FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What FlyVue tray options are available?
FlyVue has 5 different tray types available. Our Streamer Patch tray is perfect for larger flies such as streamers or wooly buggers, while our Middle Fork, Hex Tray and Picket Fence style trays are highly flexible for use with wet or dry flies, midges or nymphs. FlyVue also offers a Split-Shot tray which has two integrated split-shot boxes anchored to the fly tray.
What are FlyVue trays made from?
FlyVue trays are made from durable, lightweight ABS plastic and fitted with precision die-cut, UV-resistant EVA foam.
How should I clean my FlyVue trays?
To clean your FlyVue trays, remove flies and wipe with a lint-free, damp cloth. If the EVA foam is stained, use a microfiber towel with water or a mild solution. Do not use a bristle brush, as it may damage the foam. If sand or grit has entered the tray, remove flies and rinse under running water. Turn upside down and place on a paper towel to air dry. Do not use soaps, solvents, or harsh cleaners.
How do I reposition the fly trays?
FlyVue’s chassis can hold fly trays in 4 different positions. The top and bottom compartments of the chassis are fitted with dual-position snap hinges, providing a total of 4 placement positions.
To reposition a tray, pop it out of the hinges, reposition it into a new hinge position, and push it into the hinge slot until it clicks into place.
Hint: for larger flies (streamers, Wooly Buggers, etc.), the recommended position is in Position 4, which is in the lower compartment, with the bottom of the tray flat against the floor of the compartment.
Make sure that the pull-tab ribbon is facing the correct direction before fitting the tray into position.
