Rod Clips™ are good for all types of fishing and work with most sizes of rods. Putting a rod in and out of the clip is an easy single-handed operation that becomes second nature on the first day. Rod Clips™ aren’t only for trout fishermen with a fly rod; bass, salmon / steelhead, spin and saltwater anglers will also love using them. They’re built Smith Creek® tough from anodized marine-grade aluminum, and the custom-made zingers have been tested on over 50,000 pull cycles without failing. Even so, they’re compact, lightweight, and anglers don’t know they’re wearing a Rod Clip™ until it's time to use their wearable fishing rod holder.
The Smith Creek Rod Clip™ frees up your hands to tie on a fly, change a lure, bait a hook or show off that trophy fish you've just landed. Our original, patented fishing rod clips hold your fly rod securely and out of the way, keeping it from being accidently knocked free. Besides keeping grit out of the reel, Rod Clip™ also keeps your outfit above the salt and out of the mud. No more having to lay your rod on the ground while releasing a fish!

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What is the best location to attach my Rod Clip™ on my vest?
Try wearing your Rod Clip™ on both sides of your vest to see which works best for you. For example if you tend to put your flies or tippet on the left side of your vest, put your Rod Clip™ on the right side. Rod Clip™ has two zinger attachment holes so you can re-orient the rod opening if needed.
Where is the best location to attach Rod Clip™ to my fly rod?
We recommend securing Rod Clip™ just above the fly rod handle. This tilts the rod and keeps the line from wrapping around the rod tip .
Should my line be outside the clip when I secure it to the rod?
No. You can also position your fly rod so the line goes into the clip first, and then push the rod into place.
What size rods are compatible for use with Rod Clip™?
Smith Creek Rod Clip™ is designed for use with light to medium weight outfits up to: ½-inch (13mm) diameter and a maximum weight of 1 ½ lbs. (.75 kg). Rod Clips™ are not for use with big game-fishing, large surfcasting or other heavy-weight outfits.
How long is Smith Creek Rod Clip™ warrantied for?
Like all Smith Creek fly fishing gear, Rod Clip™ has a one (1) year warranty against defects in material and workmanship. If your Rod Clip™ fails during this period, please refer to our Warranty section for more information.
